Yin Yoga

As Yoga has become more and more popular in the West, Yang yoga has become by far the most dominant form of practice. Whilst Yang Yoga is powerful, healing and important, I strongly feel that Yin Yoga is equally crucial in order to achieve a truly balanced and homeostatic way of life. Universally, Yang cannot exist without Yin and vice versa.

Our bodies both physical and energetic, obey this Universal law. Sacred balance is physically and metaphysically achieved through the regular practice of Yang and Yin Yoga in similar proportions.

Yin Yoga

Slow Living

Mandali Retreat Center, a place near the lake Orta in Piedmont, located on top of a hill with stunning views.

The center has a beautiful spa and two yoga rooms.

The food is purely vegetarian.

Yin is the feminine, passive, receptive, reflective, withdrawn, cool, introspective aspects of life. Yin yoga was developed to penetrate deep into connective tissue expanding flexibility while invigorating the energy centers of the body (nadis) to release blockages and increase your energy flow. Focusing on static movement, breath work (Pranayama) and meditation to create a profoundly deep and rewarding practice. The primary differences between Yin Yoga and many other forms of yoga is that you are encouraged to NOT use your muscles and passive poses are held for several minutes.

Yin yoga is calming for your central nervous system through the meditative and mindfulness qualities, reducing stress and anxiety, especially helping sleep issues. By activating your Vagus Nerve you boost your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, as well as reducing inflammation in the body, whilst strengthening your immune system.
